The Elkhart SCORE Chapter has lost a special member with the passing of Don Plymale. Don was a charter member (1991) and had a significant role in bringing a SCORE Chapter to Elkhart. Don recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the National SCORE Association, recognizing his 20 years of volunteer service to people starting or growing a small business. Many hundreds of business owners have benefited from his counseling and mentoring.

Don was the prime mover towards holding 8 week Workshops for small businesses, which presents all the basic information needed to succeed. Beginning in September of 2006, there have been 11 Workshops held, with over 250 people in attendance. They are a major part of his legacy.

Don enjoyed making presentations to the groups, as he at one time was Dean of a Business School. He was very proud of his academic background and also his practical experience as an Engineering Manager at Delco-GM.

All of us connected with SCORE will miss him very much.
